About

Pianist, educator and cultural ambassador Angelo Rondello’s career has brought him across the globe and throughout the United States. His playing has been described as “fascinating, enthralling, magnetic” (Philippine Star), and “a true tour-de-force such as not often encountered." (Classical Voice of North Carolina).

Founder and director of Seattle Music Exchange Project and Music Exchange International, Angelo’s cultural diplomacy work has created cultural exchanges that have brought musicians from around the world to perform and teach in the United States, and has showcased American performers and composers in numerous countries abroad.

Recent projects include a concert tour to Seattle’s sister cities, performing works by composers of Seattle and gathering works by composers in each city, which he then performed at Benaroya Hall. He was a part of an official delegation from Seattle, visiting Kobe, Japan, to celebrate the cities’ 60th anniversary of sister city relations. Other concerts on the tour included the Grieg Academy in Bergen, Norway, Conservatorio di Musica "F. Morlacchi” in Perugia, Italy, and Művészetek Háza in Pécs, Hungary.

Angelo has performed and taught extensively in the Philippines, appearing at PhilAm Life Auditorium, performing Beethoven’s “Emperor” Concerto, in addition to solo recitals throughout the country. His critically acclaimed Chicago debut, held at the Chicago Cultural Center, was broadcast live on WFMT Chicago and the Internet, and he has since returned to perform at the PianoForte Foundation and in educational presentations with the International Music Foundation. He is a regular performer in the Clayton Piano Festival in North Carolina.

In Seattle, Rondello has performed with Lake Washington Symphony, North Corner Chamber Orchestra (NOCCO), Cascade Symphony, Lake Union Civic Orchestra, Seattle Festival Orchestra, Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra, in addition to solo and chamber performances throughout the region.

A sought after educator, Angelo runs a private teaching studio in Seattle, working with talented students of all ages. He is a frequent adjudicator and competition juror and teaches masterclasses at universities, private studios and festivals throughout the world.

Angelo’s early studies were at the Seattle Conservatory of Music, and later studied at Manhattan School of Music, Mannes College of Music, and Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music. His principal teachers included Mark Salman, Nina Svetlanova, Zitta Zohar and Jeffrey Biegel.
